Community & Volunteerism

The Center for Student Involvement coordinates opportunities for students to volunteer through service to local not-for-profit agencies, schools and community organizations. In addition, intercollegiate athletic teams, clubs and organizations, and fraternity and sorority groups all incorporate community service as part of their mission and practice here on campus.

Project HELP

Bringing Students & Local Community Together

Project HELP strives to meet the needs of the community while providing students with opportunities to volunteer in areas of their interest. Students have rewarding experiences, gain insight into societal issues, have fun, and also build strong relationships with community members and other students.

Project HELP has a number of volunteer opportunities available, ranging from ongoing to one-time experiences. Previous volunteer experiences have included: mentoring children, serving at a local soup kitchen, visiting nursing home residents, and fund raising for local not-for-profit organizations.

How to Get Involved:

One-Time Events: One-time events are opportunities for student to volunteer for a singular event. These opportunities are constantly evolving so stop by the Project HELP office, Angell College Center 2nd Floor, to find out more or sign up for our free app, HelperHelper (available in Google Play Store or Apple App Store).

Ongoing Events: For ongoing events you must contact one of the organizations within our ongoing site packet list that has information for organizations we have relationships with within the community. If you have any questions or confusion about any of these opportunities drop by the Project HELP office, ACC 2nd Floor.
